Wilderness Pack Trips

If you have a specific trip in mind, let us know!  Below we have listed popular trips, but we love to customize trips for any group.  See where we go, and give us a call if you’d like to refine your ideas, whether they include combining hiking with horseback riding or accommodating small children.

1)  A Taste of Wilderness:  This 2-night trip takes you up Moose Creek, a canyon complete with Moose Creek Falls and other waterfalls near camp.  You’ll spend your full day in the wilderness (day two) riding to Moose Lakes in high-alpine terrain with a picnic lunch.  On day three, you can relax in the morning around camp or fish in a nearby stream before we pack your camp out.  Primitive, but clean, facilities are available.

2)  Teton Canyon Adventure:  In an adventurous four-day/three-night trip, expect stunning, rarely-seen views of the Western side of the Grand Teton and the Cathedral Group (high peaks in the Tetons).  We provide spectacular day rides each day:  among them you’ll explore the Death Canyon shelf, Alaska Basin, Sunset Lake, and Hurricane Pass.  At almost 10,000 feet of altitude, we’ll get you within a half-mile of the Grand Teton.  Don’t miss out on this amazing, scenic trip.  Be ready for more adventurous terrain and longer day rides.

3)  Northern Teton Tour:  We’ll start our five-day/four-night tour in Conant Basin, one of the northern-most drainages on the Western side of the Tetons and an historic Indian route into Jackson Hole.  Day one will include lunch and/or fishing at “Hidden Lake.”  The entire trip follows moderate trails through a complete natural ecosystem.  Expect views into both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.  We’ll move our camp on day three, riding almost 10 miles through the wilderness to Bitch Creek, two drainages south of Conant Basin.

4)  Southern Teton Crest Trail:  Calling for the adventurous groups,  we look forward to traveling through the mountains with primitive accommodations into extreme terrain with awesome views.  This minimum five-night trip takes you along the spine of the Tetons.  You’ll look down into both Jackson Hole and the Western canyons of the Tetons, beginning in Moose Creek and ending in Teton Canyon.

**For those wishing to complete the entire Teton Crest Trail, contact us to explore this option.

5)  Gros Ventre or Absaroka Tour:  Spend at least five days and four nights riding from the Gros Ventre River or in the Absaroka Range.  This trip typically suits those who like long day rides or excellent fly-fishing.  We take moderate trails either into the Teton Wilderness of the Absarokas, just south of Yellowstone National Park, or into the Gros Ventre Wilderness.  The Absaroka Range boasts some of the best trout fishing in the United States.  It takes 1-2 hours to reach these trailheads from our ranch, and we can provide fishing guides upon request.
