Slip back in time and join us for an exhilarating horse adventure through the majestic Tetons. Climb aboard one of our sure-footed mountain horses and let us guide you up the trail to some of the most remote and and rarely seen country. Descendants of early Jackson Hole settlers, the Linns, look forward to sharing with you their knowledge of the western Tetons. We offer a variety of horseback adventures to suit any guest. Choose from our menu of different trail rides or immerse yourself in the wilderness on one of our multi-day pack trips. Trail Rides We offer several unique trail rides ranging from full day wilderness rides that traverse the canyons and ridges in the western Tetons to an elegant hour long sunset dinner ride in the foothills behind the ranch. We will pair you with one of our competent trail horses that matches your riding ability and we'll begin each ride with some basic riding and horsemanship instruction. All of our guides are accomplished horsemen and women and are adept back country enthusiasts who take pride in assuring your comfort and safety. Kids Horse Camp at Linn Canyon Ranch Horse camp at LCR is a fun, experiential half day workshop where your kids will learn the 101’s of horsemanship. This is a perfect program for the child (and adult alike) who wants to learn about the relationship between horse and human. Our instructors introduce you to concepts about horses in a hands-on approach. You will learn about horse behavior (psychology), breeds and characteristics, you will learn how to groom and saddle and then you will learn how to ride!  Most importantly you will learn about safety around horses and how to apply that while riding and on the ground. We will play games and do obstacles with our horses that will teach you how to lead, steer, and stop your horse. Once we’ve mastered some of these beginner skills we will take our horse campers on a trail ride up in the foothills behind the ranch. Horse camp is designed to be flexible and can be modified to meet the needs and interests of the participants. Generally we begin at 9am and end at 1pm. Full day and multi-day options are available as well. Pack Trips Immerse yourself in the wilderness on a multi-day pack trip! Come along for a horseback adventure through the mountains surrounding Jackson Hole and see them in the same way mountain men, early settlers, and only adventuresome visitors have. Our fully guided, custom pack trips are are the perfect family getaway. Riders with any level of experience are welcome and will be paired with a suitable horse that will become your traveling companion during the trip. A string of pack horses will carry your gear and all the amenities to create a luxurious and comfortable camp. Your guides serve as wranglers, packers, and chefs with a talent for serving up gourmet cowboy cuisine and they are excellent camp hosts with extensive back country experience. Learn More>

Horse Supported Hiking Trips The horse-supported hiking trip offers you the freedom of being on foot without the cumbersome weight of a heavy backpack. These trips are ideal for the retired backpacker, those looking for more exercise, or for families with younger children. Without the extra weight of a backpack, adventurers of all ages and abilities will find it fun and liberating to explore in the back country. Your group will be led on foot by one of our guides while a string of horses transports the camp and your gear. A small day pack with a camera and your lunch are the only things you will have to carry. Sunset Dinner Rides Whether you are staying at Linn Canyon Ranch or just want to come for dinner, the Sunset Dinner Ride is not to be missed. Friendly, mountain horses will be waiting to take you for a leisurely ride in the foothills of the Tetons, led by one of our expert guides. Enjoy riding the trails that wind through the aspen groves, wildflowers, and lovely views of the Teton Valley. We often see elk, deer, hawks, and other wildlife on these rides. Winter Sleigh Rides Your winter adventure in the Tetons will not be complete without a Sleigh Ride and Dinner at the Linn Canyon Ranch. When you arrive, we will greet you with a cup of hot chocolate or hot cider and invite you to board the waiting sleigh. Bundled under warm blankets you will glide around the ranch pulled by our big Percheron draft horses. You will visit the llamas and watch as the horse herd rushes out of the corral into the pasture where their dinner waits. Perhaps you will also be fortunate enough to view some of the wildlife that also lives in this canyon. As the sun sets and you head back to the lodge, listening to the sleigh bells, you are welcomed back to the warm and cozy lodge by the Linn family and their wonderful staff. Appetizers and drinks will be served upstairs in the gathering area for some socializing and will be followed by dinner in the dining room. This activity is somewhat “snow dependent” and is usually offered from December through March. We do require at least a 24 hour reservation.
